Dear Augie & Lynn,
My husband lost the fight to ALS on August 13th. His disease progressed very quickly, lasting only one year after he was diagnosed. I appreciate all that you’ve done to raise money and raise awareness to this awful disease. I want to support others going through what I experienced and do what ever we can to find a cure. We currently helping with the second annual golf tournament to raise money for ALS in Smithfield, Utah. Last year we worked with the MDA and raised $60,000. I hope to do the same this June.
Again I’m greatful for all that you’ve done for ALS and intend to stay involved. I lost my husband who was a successful businessman at age 62. I want the day to come when others will not have to experience what my husband did. I would love to hear Augie and your son speak if you ever have any more speaking engagements.

Hi Augie,
The Lord brings you to mind and I lift up prayers, for both you and Lynne. I’m so glad you have been strengthened in your spirit to take the bull by the horns and fight this disease. You are making an indelible contribution to ALS and MDA research…God does use us in our weakness to do great things. God bless you both. …one of the Loara alum.
I am a graduate student as CSULB in the communicative disorders department. I got the wonderful opportunity to hear Augie and his son Austin share their story last night. The story that Augie and Austin shared was truly inspiring. Augie has an incredible drive that I hope to have as well. I can’t wait to become a speech therapist and help other individuals, like Augie, who struggle with communication issues.
I first learned about Augie at a CMC dinner in 2007. He gave an amazing speech that I had the honor of hearing (I was there to support a graduate as he was inducted into CMC’s Wall of Fame). Now, about 3 years later… it is still one of the best speeches I have ever experienced.
Augie, you are truly an inspiration to all for your passion, determination and strive to live life to its fullest. Thank you for that speech & for helping me to realize that life is worth more than we give it credit for.
I have such compassion for kids with disabilities.
I will make a donation for your cause because it its so important to eradicate these diseases.
I would like you to also see why I have this soft spot because my own daughter Casey also has a terrible disease – cystic fibrosis…

Dear Augie:
I learned of you from my sister who had ALS. I am so encouraged when I read all that you are doing to fight ALS. God bless you and thank you for your good works. We will beat ALS, someday.
